The TAFL approach to
language learning takes the dry bones of study and puts living flesh on
them through interaction with a people and their culture.
·
In Alexandria, you
will not only learn to write, speak, listen and read in Arabic; it
is a
chance to go beyond textbook dynamics, towards experiencing the
cultural and social aspects of a people and a civilization that formed the backbone of European Renaissance.
·
At TAFL, you learn the language and live
the culture

·
The TAFL centre was established by the
University
of Alexandria in 1985, in response to
the demand put forward by Arabic Departments of European and other International Universities. It caters for the needs of
students who study Arabic as a second language and who need to get first-hand
experience of the language as it is used by its native speakers. To date, more
than 600 students, from
Britain
alone, have studied in the centre. Some of these students have contributed to
their fields as distinguished scholars and academics after graduation.
